Quick Trip to Eagle’s Nest

Wanting to make the most of the sunshine, my friend Sara and I decided to visit Eagle’s Nest this morning. Eagle’s Nest is a spectacular viewpoint high above the Wye at Wyndcliff, looking out over the sweeping curve of the river around the Lancaut Peninsula.

We had to climb 365 varied steps through the woods to get to Eagle’s Nest but it was definitely worth it! Note, the magnificent views over both severn bridges and the Severn and Wye river estuaries.

After Eagle’s Nest, we continued on the Wye Valley Walk path towards Tintern Abbey, through lush fields with cows grazing in, and thick woods overtaken by bluebells and wild garlic, before circling back to our car.
